Amazing Pokagon State Park Winter Sports

Pokagon State Park is the perfect place to enjoy the winter wonderland. Aside from the Toboggan Run, winter visitors can enjoy sledding, ice skating, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Ice fishing is also a fun thing to do when it is safe.  (Permit required, see Fishing page).

For those who just want to enjoy the winter scenery, Pokagon State Park is the perfect place to do just that. So whether you’re looking for a winter adventure or just a place to relax and take in the beauty of nature, Pokagon State Park is the place for you. 

Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing at Pokagon State Park

The Pokagon State Park cross-country ski trails are some of the best in the area. Cross country ski rentals (including skis, boots, and poles) are available at the (toboggan run) Warming Center during toboggan run hours. Rentals are $5/hour for youth 15 years and younger, and $8/hour for adults.

Snowshoe rentals are available at the (toboggan run) Warming Center (during toboggan run hours) when there is enough of a snow base (generally 6 inches, but possibly with 3-4 inches). Rentals are $10/hour for snowshoes and poles.
